Laboratory analyses of seed quality

Issuing of the ISTA certificates for export and Seed quality reports for national trade for the following quality parameters:

• Seed purity: percentage of pure seed, inert matters and seed of other species
• Germination: percentage of normal and abnormal seedlings and non-germinated seed
• Presence of seed of other species – special method at ISTA
• Content of moisture determined by the gravimetric method
• Seed health –for national trade only
• Thousand seed weight  
• Seed vigour by cold test
• Seed vitality by topographic Tetrazolium test
• Genetic purity and verification of genotype by ultra-thin layer isoelectric focusing (UTLIEF).
